Ruby’s 40 highlights pendant
Henrietta and I met at the Rose Street Market in Fitzroy where I have a weekend stall on a crisp Melbourne morning. She was on the hunt for a gift for her oldest friend, Ruby. We began chatting and she told me the two of them had been friends since they were in primary school and although they had both lived in different countries for more than 10 years, they had stayed in touch throughout their travels. Now, almost 35 years since they first met, Kelly wanted to give Ruby something really unique to mark her 40th birthday. She was drawn to Matzee’s Diamond Ring and loved the way it sparkled.
“Could you make something like this but as a pendant?” she asked.
“Sure. What if I made 40 dots as a symbol of Ruby’s birthday in a circular shaped pendant and made the big ones sparkle?” I suggested.
I followed this up with a quick sketch and together we finalised the details. It was one of those great custom commissions that’s a joy to create.
Thanks Henrietta and HaPpY BiRtHdAy Ruby!

“I met with Laura to discuss commissioning a custom made sterling silver headpiece for my wedding. Everything in the shops seems so mass produced and I wanted something truly special. Laura asked all the right questions and created exactly what I wanted. She kept me informed the whole way. The end result was so beautiful, more than I could have ever imagined!”
“I loved the experience of dealing with Laura. Her assistance and guidance in the development stages of my custom made bangle was wonderful and her correspondence was greatly appreciated.”
“I was introduced to Coral Covey through friends as I was looking for a gift for my sister, Cara. Not being a wearer of jewellery myself I loved the elegance of Laura’s work. I purchased Mel’s Folded Earrings and my sister loved them! I highly recommend Coral Covey for anybody looking for unique design with expert craftsmanship”
