A Very Special Ring
|Material:||9 Karat White Gold|
This ring was made for a very special person, my favourite person, my partner Hannah.
We met many years ago while I was on a trip back home and to be honest, it really was love at first sight. I can still remember seeing her smile at me as I walked into the restaurant. She has the most incredible smile. The more time I spent with Han, the more I realised this was the person for me, until one day I thought, “What am I waiting for?”, so I started to design a special ring.
I found myself doing the things so many of my clients had told me about to get ideas of what she would like, such as: stealth ring sizing of her finger, random conversations about precious stones and engagement rings. Eventually I came to the realisation that Han was a traditionalist and just wanted a simple, single diamond on a white gold band. Easy, right?
Well, I hadn’t made a ring like that since my undergraduate education some 20 years ago and I didn’t want to make a ring like every other traditional ring, so after a lot of trial and error I made this classic ring with a twist. A special ring for my favourite person.
This fairly mined diamond sourced from a company that abides by the Kimberly Process.
“The Kimberley Process (KP) is a commitment to remove conflict diamonds from the global supply chain. Today, participants actively prevent 99.8% of the worldwide trade.” To read more about this incredible initiative click here.
Oh, and…she said ‘yes!’ I feel lucky everyday.
“In a world awash with jewellery, I have so rarely found a jeweller who places so much importance on minimising the environmental impact of their work as Laura does with Coral Covey. Brilliant!”
“I have a Coral Covey original – It is delicate and beautifully made. I love it. I can’t speak highly enough of Laura and the pieces she creates.”
” There is something very special about knowing where my jewellery comes from and the hands that crafted it. I get compliments every time I wear my earrings from Laura.”
