Do you have one of those friends who are irreplaceable? A friend who is as rare and special as a priceless gem? For me, that’s my friend Emma, or ‘Em the gem’ as I like to call her. Em is full of laughter and light. We met at art school almost 20 years ago and bonded while sharing a dusty, dimly lit studio space in our final year. When it came time to make a special piece for Em’s birthday, I sat in my studio, listening to the rain beating down on the rooftop, trying to decide on something that is as special as she is. After much deliberation, I decided to engrave a sparkling gem in sterling silver, and blacken the silver with a natural sulphur oxide. This beautiful piece is made from 100% reclaimed sterling silver, with a 50cm long silver chain and a custom-made bone clasp. A precious piece for a true Gem.

“I met with Laura to discuss commissioning a custom made sterling silver headpiece for my wedding. Everything in the shops seems so mass produced and I wanted something truly special. Laura asked all the right questions and created exactly what I wanted. She kept me informed the whole way. The end result was so beautiful, more than I could have ever imagined!”

“I love my Ace’s Wiggle Ring! It’s unique, it’s beautiful and the craftsmanship is superb. Part of the experience was the fantastic service I received; the considerate help when choosing my ring, the regular updates while my ring was being made, and the beautiful presentation when it arrived. I couldn’t be happier.”
