Jewellery Description:

Bronny wanted a special gift for her mum’s 70th birthday and knowing of her mum’s love for the hummingbird she suggested that’s where the design process could start. “There is something magical about the way a hummingbird moves through the air, pausing with incredible precision to feed from a flower, their wings moving with such speed they are a blur – my mum just loves them.” she told me. I couldn’t agree more, a lover of nature myself, the hummingbird is one of my favourtie birds. I started with a few sketches and then carved out a couple of wax models. I wanted to make the detail in the wings particularly textured and special, so I made this my main focus. It was a delight to watch this little creature come into existence on my bench.

This hummingbird is made from 100% reclaimed/recycled sterling silver. It sits on a 45cm long sterling silver chain with a custom-made bone clasp. The surface has been highly polished, allowing a special glimmer. It comes gift packaged with detailed care instructions and silver polishing cloth.
Note – every hummingbird is handmade – no two are exactly identical.

“I met with Laura to discuss commissioning a custom made sterling silver headpiece for my wedding. Everything in the shops seems so mass produced and I wanted something truly special. Laura asked all the right questions and created exactly what I wanted. She kept me informed the whole way. The end result was so beautiful, more than I could have ever imagined!”
