A Ring made with my Sapphires
|Material:||9 Karat Rose Gold|
Sometimes the chance to work with sapphires that someone has actually fossicked (unearthed) themselves presents itself – this ring was one of those special occasions.
Daniel had spent hours in the Australian outback sifting and searching through the rock for these bright little sapphire stones. He asked a professional stone cutter to cut them to get the best and brightest sparkle. They are all a little different in colour but the range is stunning – from greens, to yellows and even little oranges ones. ⠀
He asked me to make a special ring for his wife. With two young kids they hadn’t had much time to themselves lately…he told me with a sigh. But, he was planning a special weekend away and he wanted to give her this special ring – how gorgeous is that!? We discussed ideas and he suggest a ring that has layers, each snuggled into one another, to represent their shared experiences. I thought that was a stunning idea.
I made this ring using 9 carat rose gold. When the ring was finished I stamped it with my makers mark and hallmarked the gold carat. Naturally this piece came complete with my official authenticity certificate stating the gold carat.
“I was introduced to Coral Covey through friends as I was looking for a gift for my sister, Cara. Not being a wearer of jewellery myself I loved the elegance of Laura’s work. I purchased the Folded Form Earrings and my sister loved them! I highly recommend Coral Covey for anybody looking for unique design with expert craftsmanship”
“In a world awash with jewellery, I have so rarely found a jeweller who places so much importance on minimising the environmental impact of their work as Laura does with Coral Covey. Brilliant!”
“I have commissioned Laura to design and create several pieces for me and my expectations have been exceeded every time. Her passion for both the origins of materials and commitment to telling a story is in itself sheer artistry.”
