Jayden and Sam visited the Coral Covey studio together, excited to design Sam’s future engagement ring side by side. Having been together for nine years, sharing adventures from moving to Perth to travelling across Canada, and entering a new chapter in their relationship, they wanted a ring that would symbolise both their past and their future.
They brought a family heirloom ring from Sam’s side to their initial consultation, which featured a sparkling oval cut purple gemstone. Laura carefully removed the stone from its original setting, had it valued, and re-imagined it into a new piece to be worn and cherished for another lifetime.
The finished piece is a Toi et Moi design, pairing two beautifully contrasting stones side by side. One is a 0.83ct freeform green-yellow sapphire, hand-mined in Tasmania, set alongside the 0.6ct heirloom purple gemstone. The stones are held by Laura’s distinctive organic claw settings, a key feature of this design.
Made entirely by hand in the Coral Covey studio from platinum with rhodium plating, the ring is crafted from 100% recycled and refined materials, keeping sustainability at the heart of its creation.
The inside of the band features a sweet engraving of their shared mantra. A lovely little detail just for them.

This ring came gift packaged in a wooden box made by the New Zealand team at GIVE. These guys make special bespoke wooden jewellery boxes for Coral Covey from sustainable forest woods with care, quality and workmanship.
Laura also includes an authenticity certificate with every ring, detailing the carat and quality of the precious stones and metal as well as special care instructions.
