Alison and James' engagement ring journey spanned continents, reflecting their unique story. With Laura's guidance and expertise, they crafted a piece that symbolises their shared heritage and future.
Alison, an American pursuing a PhD in economics, and James, an Australian who studied electrical engineering abroad, initially met at college in California and have been inseparable since. Though Alison was abroad during their ring design process, she joined consultations via video call, while James attended in person. Together, they explored the perfect blend of elements that would symbolise their relationship.
Initially, Alison and James considered Californian sapphires, reflecting their shared time in the United States. However, they ultimately chose vibrant Montana sapphires, a nod to Alison's American roots. These stunning stones, paired with a hand-cut Australian green sapphire, represent the blending of their origins.
The Australian sapphire is securely nestled in one of Laura's distinctive settings, the "Folding Leaf." This setting beautifully embodies the essence of Australia's landscape and flora, which Alison, a nature enthusiast, holds dear. She first discovered the design at the Big Design Market and was immediately drawn to its natural elegance.
The band is crafted from 18-carat yellow gold and features delicate eucalyptus leaf engravings, further tying the piece to the Australian environment. This subtle detail adds a touch of nature's beauty, making the ring both wearable and distinct.
