Katy and Matt have been together for 20 years and now live abroad. While visiting family in Australia, they booked a consultation at the Coral Covey studio to discuss redesigning Katy’s existing engagement ring set.
The project involved recreating three of Katy’s special rings into two new pieces that fit perfectly together, incorporating heirloom diamonds from her original rings. Katy wanted designs that were nature-inspired, organic, and handmade.
After their initial in-person consultation, they continued to collaborate via video calls and email to finalise every detail. Laura carefully unset the heirloom diamonds and created layouts and mock-ups in blue tack to explore different arrangements. Detailed sketches helped refine the designs to perfection.
The finished rings are a harmonious blend of organic textures and thoughtful details. The two bands were fused so the fern embellishments flow seamlessly across both. Inside, a special engraving celebrates their enduring love — a reminder that even after 20 years, two children, and living abroad, they still love each other “around the world and back.”
