Emma & Jess came to Laura with the vision of breathing new life into Emma’s existing engagement ring. After discovering Laura’s work at the Finders Keeper's market, Emma was drawn to the organic, intricate, and finely crafted designs Laura is known for. Their goal was to reuse the diamonds from Emma’s original ring while introducing a new Australian sapphire and creating an asymmetrical design with a rustic, varied setting style.
In the early stages of their consultation, Emma and Jess had a clear vision for the sapphire. While the stones in Laura’s collection didn’t quite meet their criteria, they were instrumental in guiding Laura toward what they had in mind. With a refined understanding of their preferences for cut, colour, and shape, Laura custom sourced three stunning sapphires from her trusted suppliers. The 0.88ct Australian free-form cut sapphire, mined in Rubyvale, Central Queensland, was a perfect match — a bright green beauty that stood out for its unique qualities.
Once the sapphire was chosen, Laura took great care in designing their one-of-a-kind piece. Emma and Jess trusted Laura’s expertise, giving her the freedom to dream up a design that would do justice to their heirloom diamonds and new sapphire. Drawing inspiration from their love of asymmetry and organic forms, Laura created a piece featuring a mix of claw settings and her signature flat spot settings, complete with grain-set diamonds.
This piece was made using 100% recycled and refine classic 18-carat yellow gold.
