Chris reached out to create a surprise engagement ring for Shida, marking a new chapter in their lives together. They’ve been together for four years and share a love of nature, the coast, and running—culminating in an upcoming marathon in Turkey.
Shida’s subtle hints to Chris about the type of ring she loved guided the design. She wanted something unique, with a vintage feel, a band that wasn’t too skinny, and not a standard diamond ring.
I hand carved this asymmetrical trilogy ring in 18-carat yellow gold using 100% refined and recycled material. The centre features a 1.23ct apple green radiant cut sapphire from Inverell, NSW. Active mining is no longer present in the area, making bright, eye-clean sapphires like this increasingly rare. It is flanked by a pear and round-cut Australian sapphire, all set in organic claws. Two delicate native leaves frame the stones, reflecting their shared love of nature.
The ring was ready in time for Chris to propose on the rooftop of their hotel in Göreme, Turkey. “First off: she said yes! Shida loves the ring—she thinks it’s beautiful. I’m so stoked!” Chris shared, along with photos of the moment.
Congratulations to this gorgeous couple!
