Laura doesn't usually make charm bracelets but when Katy wrote her a lovely email request, she was happy to work with her on the special project.
Katy and her family were living in Thailand and she wanted a gift for her sister, who was living in London. So they needed to decide on all the fine details of this piece via email.
Katy described how the cowrie shell was her family's memory of 'holiday.' They had always enjoyed time together when she was young and the sea shell had come to symbolise those special times.
Laura hand-carved each shell individually, with its own distinct pattern. Four shells to represent four decades for her sister's 40th birthday.
