Ben and Bianca’s journey to their perfect engagement ring was one of thoughtfulness, sustainability, and a shared love for nature. The couple had been together for 8 years, and travelled to many destinations together. Ben, a geologist, and Bianca, who works in fisheries, both have a deep connection to the earth, which meant that sustainability was an important factor in their ring design.
The process began when Ben reached out to Laura on his own after Bianca shared Laura’s Instagram profile with him. Although they were based in Perth at the time, this didn’t hinder Ben & Laura’s ability to design something absolutely perfect for Bianca. The two connected via a Google Meet consultation, where they discussed their ideas. Ben took a screenshot of Bianca’s Pinterest ring board she curated, which served as a great initial starting point for what she was seeking for her dream ring. Post consultation, Ben & Laura communicated via email, fine-tuning all the details, and signing off on a detailed sketch of her ring before Laura began production.
Laura presented Ben with several sapphire options, and after careful consideration, he selected this beautiful 1.7ct freeform blue/yellow parti sapphire that was ethically hand mined from Tomahawk Creek, QLD. They paired it with two gorgeously warm toned C4 Argyle champagne diamonds, which worked beautifully with the chosen alloy. The stone and diamond combination was set in 14-carat, 100% refined and recycled rose gold.
The ring features Laura’s signature organic claw setting, with delicate fern engravings on the sides, a lovely nod to the couple’s passion for exploring the natural world. The resulting design is a perfect reflection of Ben and Bianca’s love for each other, and for nature.
