Ben found Laura on Instagram, and from the very first message it was clear this one was going to be something special. He and Nia met in high school, spent three years travelling together through Colombia, Nepal and Guatemala, lived in India, and have built a decade of adventures side by side. Ben became a landscaper — someone who shapes the natural world with his hands — and Nia pours herself into shaping young minds as a secondary school teacher. They ditched careers in marketing because it simply wasn't them, and have never looked back.
In January, ten years on from where it all began, Ben wanted to ask Nia to marry him. And he wanted the ring to say everything words couldn't.
Nia had one request, shared without knowing quite what was coming: she wanted a blue sapphire. Like Ben's eyes.
Hand-carved in 18-carat classic yellow gold from 100% recycled and refined material, the ring is nature-inspired from the ground up — soft polish finish, half-round band, and hand-carved leaf and fern embellishments that gather around the setting like something found growing in the wild. The central blue sapphire sits in an organic claw setting, its vivid colour chosen to honour exactly what Nia asked for. Alongside it, smaller sapphires in green and purple nestle within the same organic composition, their tones drawing from the full colour palette of blues, greens, yellows and pinks that runs through the whole design.
The result is a ring that feels as though it was grown rather than made — delicate, wearable, and quietly magical. Something Nia can carry with her on every trail, every adventure and every ordinary day to come.
